TITLE:
Child Care Intern

Quality
Care Childcare
is a
service-enriched childcare and
development academy for school-age
children (K-15) that offers a variety of
educational/enr ichment, recreational,
social and developmental activities
provided in a well supervised, caring
and safe environment.
PURPOSE:
To assist in preparing and implementing
activities for children in a safe
environment.
Plan,
implement and evaluate activities in
cooperation with management and other
program staff
Spend
one-on-one time with each child whenever
possible.
Implement
and enforce behavior management
techniques consistent with written
policy and other program staff.
Know and
carry out appropriate health and safety
procedures for protection of children.
Complete
other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Agree to
mandated child abuse reporting
guidelines.
Special
interest or experience with school-age
chi ldren. Post secondary education in a
related field is preferable.
Possess
good interpersonal skills.
Possess
mature judgment and demonstrate ability
to manage childrens behavior in a
positive manner.
Ability
to work effectively with children and
parents who represent a wide range of
socio-economic, racial and ethnic
groups.
Ability
to be flexible, work closely with other
staff and be open to occasional
adjustments of work schedules.
Current
First Aid and CPR certification is a
plus.
Hands on
experience working with professionals in
elementary education field.
Increased
understanding of issues related to
working with elementary age school
children.
Documented internship experience.
Experience working for a non-profit
agency.
SITE:
875 N. Howard Street Baltimore, MD 21202
Minimum
3-month commitment.
Program
hours are Monday thru Friday, 7-2p.m. or
2 -6:30pm Summer hours are 2-7 p.m.
Schedule
is negotiable. Schedule is set during
orientation.
